Maryborough hosts ‘Bark in the Park’ event in April
The council is getting set to host a new dog-friendly event, ‘Bark in the Park’ in Maryborough next month.

Following off the success of Hervey Bay’s ‘Dogs Day out,’ last year the Fraser Coast council is hosting its sister event, ‘Bark in the Park’ in Maryborough next month.
The 2022 event welcomed which more than more than 1,000 people and their beloved pooches will serve as the inspiration for this year’s event.

The free event which will be held at Brendan Hansen Park, Granville on Saturday April 29 will run from 8am to midday.
A council spokesman has said the event will allow a fun day out for pet owners while also ensuring the furry family friends are up to date on all important council registrations.
“The event will feature market stalls, dog agility displays and Council Customer Service to allow pet owners to update registration details,” the council’s spokesman said.
Fraser Coast Council Mayor George Seymour said free activities will also make necessary care requirements accessible for pet owners.
“A key feature at ‘Bark in the Park’ is that the Council officers will be microchipping dogs for free, making it that much easier and affordable for pet owners to comply,” he said.

There will also be a novelty dog show on the day, with categories such as cutest dog, and the pet and owner look-alike prize.
The event has been designed to be a fun yet educational day out that the “whole” family can enjoy.
