Callide MP Bryson Head has officially opened his Satellite Electorate Office in Chinchilla in an effort to better reach the constituents of the massive 74,199sq km electorate, an area larger than the state of Tasmania.

Mr Head was easily re-elected back in October, securing 55.86 per cent of the votes and joined the neighbouring Liberal National Party winners in Toowoomba North, Toowoomba South, Condamine, Southern Downs, Warrego, Lockyer and Scenic Rim.

In a press release Mr Head acknowledged the size of his electorate and said establishing a second office outside of Biloela was a top priority.

“As part of my role as the Member for Callide, I want to be able to continue to assist and advocate on behalf of individuals and their communities, to create a better future for our rural and regional areas,” he said.

“I have always aimed at being approachable, accessible and available to all corners of the electorate and this new office means we can do so more effectively.

“It’s important for the people in my electorate to have access to my services, so my team and I can continue advocating and supporting all communities.”

Mr Head said he would also continue to work out of the Biloela office.

“Please note that my Biloela office will continue to provide the same support and services as it always has,” he said.

“My team at both offices can help support those who need assistance with state government matters.

“Whether you have been on a waiting list for far too long, have policy ideas you wish to share, or have been a victim of Labor’s crime crises, we are here to listen and help.

“This additional office will give us even more opportunities to collaborate with local residents and work together to build a better, brighter Queensland.”

Mr Head previously thanked his electorate for their support and said he would repay that support in his second term.

“It is nice that the people I have been working with over the last couple of years have turned around and offered their support to me at the ballot box,” he said.

“We know everything is done one election at a time and I am now eager to re-prove myself to everyone who gave me their support and even those who didn’t to earn their trust and hopefully have them consider voting for me next time.

“I will not take a backwards step in the work I’ve been doing and I’ll keep working hard for those who put their trust in me.”
