How many seats does the LNP need to win?

Any party needs to win 47 seats in order to secure a majority government.

LNP leader David Crisafulli has previously ruled out forming a minority government with Katter’s Australian Party.

Going into the 2024 election Labor held 51 seats and the LNP 35.

Which are the key seats at play?

North Queensland looms as a key battleground, with Labor holding all four seats of Mulgrave, Cairns, Cook and Barron River after the 2020 election.

However the regular campaign trips north by Steven Miles and David Crisafulli indicate both consider the region up for grabs.

Meanwhile it was reported Mr Miles probably saved Labor from a devastating defeat in Brisbane’s inner city, with the Greens previously declared their ambitions.

Overall it’s considered this election about half of the 93 electorates are up for grabs.
