Isaac William Powell has death case mentioned in Bundaberg Supreme Court

A Wide Bay man accused of killing a 45-year-old Torquay man in 2019 has had his matter mentioned in the Supreme Court of Bundaberg.

A man accused of an unlawful striking causing death has had his matter mentioned in the Supreme Court at Bundaberg.

Torquay man Isaac William Powell, 34, was previously accused of an act of grievous bodily harm against a 45-year-old Torquay man Paul Herdman at a Urangan St unit on September 5, 2019.

The man later died of head injuries in the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, prompting the charge of unlawful striking causing death.

Powell’s lawyer Michael Riedel, appearing by phone, requested before Justice Graeme Crow that the matter go to sentence on December 1.

However, the Crown Prosecution said more time was needed for consultation, a fact Mr Riedel said he hadn't realised.

Powell's matter has been adjourned for another Supreme Court mention on Monday, October 25.
