Michael and Christine Owens mentioned in court over fraud charges

The case against Bargara business managers Michael and Christine Owens has returned to Bundaberg Magistrates Court.

Bargara business managers Michael and Christine Owens have had their fraud matters mentioned in Bundaberg Magistrates Court before Magistrate Andrew Moloney.

Michael Patrick Owens is facing one charge of stealing by clerks and servants and one of fraud (dishonest application of property subject of trust/direction/condition on account of another, by employee).

Christine Louise Owens is facing one charge of stealing by directors, officers or companies and two charges of fraud (dishonest application of property, subject of trust /direction/condition on account of another by director/member of governing body).

Both are on bail and will return to court next for their next hearing on February 23, 2022.

In August, some of the charges were committed to the district court for an expected three-day trial at a later date.
