Paramedics treat snakebite victims in Bundaberg, Moreton Bay

The spate of snake bites across Queensland continues with victims rushed to hospital following two separate incidents within 90 minutes. It comes after three people were bitten in four hours just days before.

Two people have been taken to hospital following snake bites in Queensland overnight.

A woman in her 40s was bitten by a snake at a private address in Closeburn, in the Moreton Bay region, around 9.05pm on Friday evening and taken to the Prince Charles Hospital.

A man was bitten by a snake at a private address in the Bundaberg suburb of Branyan around 7.32pm on Friday and taken to Bundaberg Hospital.

Both patients were in a stable condition.

This latest string of snake bites comes after three Queenslanders were bitten in the space of four hours last weekend, including another incident in Bundaberg where a man in his 30s was bitten a Bungadoo property and two other bites were reported at Beaudesert and Toowoomba.

A Bundaberg family got a big shock as a snake came out of their car’s air conditioning vent while they were driving in the coastal suburb of Elliot Heads.

As reported on 7News, the driver of the car said the snake tried to bite him from its hiding place in a vent next to the steering wheel.

In the week prior, a woman was bitten in her bed by a deadly eastern brown snake while sleeping at her home in the Western Downs, and a woman in her 30s was transported off K’gari (formerly Fraser Island) after being bitten on her foot.

A Kingaroy woman was also bitten at a private address on Saturday, January 6.
