A new Tel Aviv-inspired bar will launch in Fortitude Valley this week with a cocktail costing a whopping $120.
Bar Kazba will take the space of the Za Za Ta bar at the base of the Ovolo hotel in The Emporium, boasting a sleek, dark fit-out influenced by the Israeli coastal city.
Cocktails will be the focus at the drinking den, including a $120 special cocktail designed for four to share called “Rock the Kazba” Disco Punch combining Pampero anejo, apricot liqueur, lemon verbena tea, fresh mint, dehydrated lemons and the luxury cognac Hennessy VS.
“We’re taking our drinks to the next level with a new cocktail program with more theatrical beverages, offering a Tel Aviv nightlife experience,” said Jared Thibault, Ovolo Hotels, Food and Beverage Director Queensland.
All cocktails will have a Middle Eastern leaning with other options including the Seven Species with olive oil and date gin mixed with pomegranate juice, fig liqueur, Shapiro pale ale and fresh muscat grapes; to the Turkish coffee Martini with house spiced rum, Elite arak, caramelised yoghurt, Turkish coffee, cardamom and chocolate bitters.
A vegetarian menu of street food-inspired bar snacks will complement the drinks, including the likes of chilli haloumi doughnuts and sesame falafels.
“Everything from the decor, lighting to the music and general vibe is completely different to Za Za Ta and what it will be now is two unique experiences within one venue,” said Mr Thibault.
Bar Kazba opens this Friday.
