Showing off her bald head as a result of intensive chemotherapy treatment, the 42-year-old kaftan queen appeared in good health as she smiled for the cameras at the Sydney premiere of Aussie film Ladies In Black.
Supported by her partner musician JP Jones, Franks was on trend for the film, skipping her trademark elaborate coloured prints for a black pants suit.
While she posed for the gathering of photographers, Franks would not comment on her health.
She did call out to the pack of snappers, “I miss you guys”.
The public appearance comes after she first revealed the toll of the disease on social media in a series of powerful black and white photographs in late July.
“I am bald and broken but I will not be beaten,” she wrote.
Ladies in Black stars Aussie actors Ryan Corr, Noni Hazlehurst, Alison McGirr and is directed the legendary Bruce Beresford who were all present last night.
