Designer Camilla Franks shares images taken during her battle with cancer
DESIGNER Camilla Franks who in May revealed she had been diagnosed with breast cancer, poses with her daughter, Luna and fiance JP Jones for a series of images documenting her treatment for the disease.

CAMILLA Franks has shared a series of heartbreaking, beautiful images taken during her battle with cancer. The designer, who in May revealed she had been diagnosed with breast cancer, posed with her daughter, Luna and fiance JP Jones for a series of images documenting her treatment for the disease.
The raw and powerful images, which show the 43-year-old without hair, crying with her six-month-old baby in her arms, and wearing a selection of designs from her label, were shot by acclaimed photographer Georges Antoni.
A statement released by Franks’ team said the designer was responding well to treatment.
“Our amazing Camilla is responding well to treatment and wanted to capture where she is on her personal path fighting cancer. The strength and authenticity evident in these images is what we always see when she comes into the office,” Camilla CEO Jane McNally said.
“Camilla and JP are incredibly grateful for the love and kindness shown to them throughout this time and have been touched by the messages of support. She continues to have all of our love and encouragement.”
The first of the images, a powerful shot with partner J.P Jones standing behind her resting his chin on her shoulder as she holds her daughter Luna, is the
Franks says the day of the shoot was “a day I’ll never forget.”
“My strength behind me. Our future in front. With me always. The colour, the music and the moon. I am eternally grateful to my creative family who brought this to life.
Another which shows her holding Luna with a single tear running down her face reads: “A sacred chord.
An unwavering faith. The light in the darkness. My soul complete. My hallelujah.”
While in another shot where Franks is pictured with her arm in the air, she says: “I have always run wild and free. But the devil has asked me to dance. So f**k it. I’m going to show him some moves.”
The black and white imagery drew an outpouring of support from Franks’ friends and fashion peers including Bambi Northwood Blyth, Mahalia Barnes and Megan Gale.
It’s the first time Franks has been seen since shaving her head, which McNally said the former actor found “confronting” but also “empowering”.
