Sedap Rasa
Indonesian
Just when you thought Anzac Parade was all rendang-ed out, along comes Sedap Rasa's version; all tender beef, sauce richly concentrated. Forget the mish-mash decor and make for the bain maries. Ask the enthusiastic staff for advice - some dishes are sold by the piece making for greater portion control and variety. Contrast slow cooked ayam (chicken) gulai, sauce mild and subtle, with the grilled chicken. Add lipsmacking oxtail soup, luscious terang (eggplant) and spinach-like singtong (cassava) leaf, a side of kwetiau (noodles), and take a cheap trip to Sumatra via Rendang Road (or Anzac Parade if you still call it that).
