This is an old-school sports pub - gambling, mammoth televisions, footy jerseys on the walls. If you walked in when it was empty, you'd fear that ordering anything but a pie and a schooner would start a blue. But surprise, surprise, the kitchen serves truly excellent Vietnamese fare - fragrant pho (seven varieties), wonderful buns and rice dishes. There's also steaks, fish 'n' chips and a few Chinese standards. It's nothing glam - you line up, place your order, get a number, grab your own cutlery, pour tea and weave through masses of chattering families to a cramped table - but it's worth it.
