Mastro's
Cafe
The sign outside promises serious coffee, and so it is. Mastro roasts his beans at Alexandria's Crave coffee roasters, obsessively going for a deep-seated flavour and brightness. It's a funny little spot, the few tables on the street with yellow umbrellas and potted topiary in stark contrast to the fast-food style of the hot little kitchen inside (no air-con). Food runs from toasted panini and house-made muffins to a business-like steak sandwich and a Peroni; best taken, if possible, outside and followed by a serious coffee ($3.50).
