Favoloso
Mediterranean
Clearly, someone loves their Vespas here. Owner Christiane Pinzone fell in love with sunny Sicily, the island of her forebears, and foods such as ricotta, anchovies and tuna now feature on the menu of the antipasto bar at this all-in-one, madly multi-tasking general store and cafe. If you think that's favoloso (fabulous), then how about the fact that you can pick up an international magazine and go grocery shopping while in line for your coffee order and, say, a poached chicken roll? La Nuova Era's caffe latte ($3.50) is bold and balanced, as Italian in character as the Vespa.
