Emma's on Liberty
Lebanese$$
This place was surely not this crowded, loud and inner-west-cool in its past life as a corner store. Nowadays waitstaff squeeze between tables - single file, breathing in - with petite but flavour-packed servings of Lebanese fare. Try ladies fingers - crisp filo pastry cigars filled with an aromatic mix of lamb mince, pinenuts and pomegranate molasses - or 'golden balls', the crunchy shell encasing a stretchy, cheesy centre, topped with cherry syrup. Roasted eggplant is melting and moreish, while fattoush salad wows with plenty of crunch plus the zip and zing of lemon, sumac and mint. Share the feast with friends, and a pretty pink house-made drink of rosewater and lemonade.
