Cheema Da Dhaba
Indian
None of your faux Indian decor here; even the obligatory flat screen is poked into a corner. It's all about the food and that's just fine when it's as good as the paneer tikka (tandoor smoky firm Indian cottage cheese covered in a richly spiced tomato sauce), or Amritsar fish fry (chunks of fish in a turmeric and chickpea flour batter that's deep fried, crisp and tender), or samosa chaat (small samosas topped with a mix of potato, coriander, tamarind sauce and a yoghurt mint dressing). The ice-cream, rose water and vermicelli falooda is a sugar junkie's nirvana.
