Cafe at Lewers
Contemporary
Don't miss the rainwater tank stand, that's all we can say. In among the inspiring exhibitions in the Penrith Regional Gallery and the equally inspiring food from cookery writer and restaurateur Ross Dobson in the open terraced cafe, is a tank so tall and so covered in greenery it could be an art installation in its own right. The perfectly curated menu is full of brekky favourites, sandwiches and an awesome lamb pie with mash, and it's worth leaving the highway just for the well-made Genovese coffee ($3.50). There are heaters in winter, although a visit to this very charming gallery would leave anyone with a warm glow.
