Truman
Contemporary
Truman (after Capote, not Carrey) has outdoor views of Albert Park's English trees and stately terraces, and indoor views of souvenir spoons, roaring dinosaurs and retro sugar bowls. Its owners are ex-Galleon Cafe, and the cheerful service, whopping serves and artful kitsch are reminiscent of the old ship's heyday. Breakfast on classy eggs benedict with luxurious curls of smoked salmon, or corn fritters with a refreshing scatter of fresh tomato salsa and coriander. The seriously hungry can saddle up for a generous steak sandwich, a haloumi burger or a classic BLT.
