Northcote Bakeshop
Contemporary
Northcote Bakeshop is a little bit vegan, a little bit South American, a little bit artisan and a little bit CWA bake sale. In a formerly derelict stretch of High Street, this place works all the angles to suit its diverse clientele - one man's pork, chorizo and olive empanada is another's potato, pea and carrot roll. The bakers fire up the coffee machine early so you can have a single-origin espresso with your still-warm scone or drop in later for soup, a slice of milhojas (a type of millefeuille with dulce de leche), or a loaf of sourdough rye to go.
