Travel surge cements Young Rich Lister’s new billionaire status
Young Rich travel entrepreneur Robert Chamberlain has cemented his billionaire status on the back of Huno Group’s 25 per cent surge in revenue, but growth was tipped to slow in the year ahead.
Mr Chamberlain kick-started Huno Group with travel comparison and booking website, AirfaresFlights.com.au, in 2003. Since then, it has expanded into hotels and cars and become a $232.6 million revenue business. It generated $78.8 million in net profit in the year to June 30, according to audited accounts, up more than 11 per cent on the previous year and reflected a 33.9 per cent profit margin.
