Auckland | Former airline executive Christopher Luxon will be New Zealand’s next Prime Minister, promising to repair the country’s languishing economy after his centre-right National Party surged to victory.

With almost 95 per cent of votes counted on Saturday night, National was poised to form a coalition government after winning close to 40 per cent of the primary party vote.
