Trump wants to slash the US trade deficit with Japan
Washington | President Donald Trump said he wants to slash the US trade deficit with Japan as he welcomed Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba to the White House for their first face-to-face meeting.
Mr Trump added that he wasn’t taking the possibility of levying tariffs against Japan off the table, but believed that the issue could be resolved without taking punitive action. The United States has a $US68 billion ($108 billion) trade deficit with Japan.
