Just 14 months ago, Donald Trump was lost in the wilderness.
Not only was he still reeling from the 2020 election loss, but he was being widely blamed for the failed “Red Wave” at the 2022 midterms. The first of 91 criminal charges against him had landed, he was getting old and tired, and his popularity was at an all-time low.
