UN Resolution 2735 adopted on Monday (Tuesday AEST) sets out a three-stage approach to end the war in Gaza, where more than one million Palestinians face “catastrophic levels of food insecurity” and about 1.7 million people have been displaced. The Albanese government supports the plan.

Since the war began in retaliation for the terrorist attacks by Hamas on October 7, there has been one ceasefire in November that saw 105 hostages released in exchange for 240 Palestinian prisoners.
