Jewish leaders say Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus’ trip to Israel will be successful only if he can deliver a change in federal policies towards the Jewish state upon his return.
Mr Dreyfus, Australia’s most senior Jewish politician, left on Tuesday saying he would use the week-long trip to Israel and the Palestinian territories to “demonstrate Australia’s long-standing friendship with the Israeli people and our commitment to peace in the Middle East”.
