Blast hits Australian UN observer patrolling in Lebanon
Beirut | An Australian was among three United Nations military observers wounded on Saturday (Sunday AEDT) when a shell exploded near them while patrolling the southern Lebanese border, the UN peacekeeping mission in Lebanon said.
The military observers are part of the United Nations Truce Supervision Organisation, which supports the UN peacekeeping mission in southern Lebanon, known as UNIFIL. A Lebanese interpreter was also injured in the explosion. UNIFIL spokesperson Andrea Tenenti said the four wounded were in stable condition.
