Why things could get even worse for the Tories
If the Conservative Party doesn’t come to an understanding with Reform there is a real chance Reform could replace it as the main party of the right at the next election.

The Tories of the English and Scottish landed classes became “Conservatives” after Sir Robert Peel’s Tamworth Manifesto in 1834, when he sought to broaden the party’s appeal to the middle classes enfranchised after the Great Reform Bill; and they have just suffered the worst defeat ever.
