London | US Vice President J.D. Vance has warned countries not to “tighten the screws” on America’s tech giants, as he vowed to make his country the “gold standard” for artificial intelligence.
President Donald Trump’s loyal lieutenant used a visit to Paris for an AI summit to throw down the gauntlet to the European Union, which has been steadily building a regulatory edifice to govern social media content, AI safety and the conduct of the tech behemoths.
