Sunak stumbles on Rwanda migrant plan as campaign kicks off
London | Rishi Sunak suffered a setback on the first full day of the election campaign, as he conceded he could probably not deliver on his controversial flagship plan to fly thousands of asylum seekers from Britain to Rwanda.
The prime minister admitted on Thursday (Friday AEST) that deportations of asylum seekers to Rwanda – a policy first proposed by the Tories more than two years ago – would not happen unless he secures an unlikely election victory.
