‘Right to a pint’ row erupts in UK over World Cup final
London | The British government is encouraging local councils to allow pubs to open earlier so that fans can have a pint before they watch England play Spain in the Women’s World Cup final in Sydney, a minister said on Thursday (Friday AEST).
The game on Sunday will be the first time since England’s men beat West Germany in the final of the 1966 World Cup that a senior England team has reached the final of a major global tournament.
