London | IFM Investors, the asset management giant owned by Australia’s largest superannuation funds, is facing an increasingly hostile reception in Spain amid a boardroom brawl at gas and electricity utility Naturgy.

The fund manager has been interested in the Madrid-based company for years, attempting to increase its stake with little success given the stock is controlled by a handful of major investors including BlackRock and European private equity giant CVC Capital Partners.
