London | UK Chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng on Friday (AEDT) cut short his trip to Washington for the IMF meetings, returning to London amid reports that Prime Minister Liz Truss might reverse more of her market-roiling “mini-budget” to save her sinking premiership.
Dr Kwarteng confirmed to reporters he was flying home early, without giving additional detail. Sources familiar with the matter said he planned to meet colleagues to work on his medium-term budget plan.
