London | Australia’s business and political elite has turned its back on the annual gathering of world leaders and corporate chieftains in the Swiss alpine town of Davos this week, despite the organisers claiming record participation.
The government is not fielding any minister at the World Economic Forum’s annual summit, which starts on Monday. The most senior official representative is Davos regular and former prime minister Kevin Rudd, in his capacity as ambassador to Washington.
