Time for a change, urges Singapore PM's rebel brother
Sydney | Singaporean businessman Lee Hsien Yang has urged voters in the upcoming general election not to support the party founded by his father and led by his brother, the current Prime Minister, but stopped short of running as an opposition candidate.
All those seeking to contest the July 10 election had until 12pm (2pm AEST) on Tuesday to declare their intention. The no-show by Mr Lee marked the end of speculation he would contest the seat held by his father during the latter's long reign as Singapore's first prime minister.
