Myanmar general declares himself PM, pushes back election date

Singapore | The Myanmar military has changed its status from administrative council to national government by installing its leader as prime minister.

General Min Aung Hlaing declared himself PM during a televised speech. He also said the country needed to create conditions to hold a “free and fair multi-party election”, while pushing back the promised election date till August 2023.
