Embarrassed and angry – that’s how many people feel about last week’s remarks on women in the workplace by former Japanese prime minister Yoshiro Mori.

Mori, President of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic organising committee, was asked why he didn’t think the Japan Olympic Committee needed to increase the number of women directors. He said – and I kid you not – that women tend to speak too long and that this makes meetings go over time.
