Singapore | South-East Asian leaders will next week consider a proposal to ban the Myanmar junta from all ministerial-level meetings in a diplomatic slapdown that would have global repercussions.
The Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) is unlikely to agree to suspend Myanmar’s membership from the regional bloc at a leaders meeting in Phnom Penh next week, but a proposal from Malaysia to freeze out the junta could get over the line.
