It can be up to a year, Rowenna Walker says. That’s how long it takes to find a suitable recruit amid some of the worst labour shortages the country has faced.
“We’ve got roles we haven’t filled,” the NSW managing director of engineering consultancy Aurecon says. “It can take a month and some can take six months and up to a year, depending on the skill set. It’s really hard work.”
