Revealed: The mounting cost of cleaning up the CFMEU

The administration appointed to clean up the CFMEU has clocked up more than $4 million in costs in its first seven months, mostly for hefty salaries for staff it has brought in.

The administration billed the construction union’s NSW, Victorian and Queensland branches $4.4 million from August 24 to March 31, sources close to the administration told The Australian Financial Review. The cost is expected to climb significantly.
