Qantas engineers strike goes national, targets peak-hour flights

Qantas engineers critical to aircraft maintenance and turnaround will stop work at major airports around the country this week, threatening to disrupt peak-hour flights at the start of school holidays.

The Qantas Engineers’ Alliance, comprising the Australian Manufacturing Workers Union, the Electrical Trades Union and Australian Workers Union, announced more than 1000 engineers will stop work in Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth between 7am and 9am on Monday.
