Ports face disruption as unions combine for tugboat strikes
Ten ports across Australia will be disrupted on Friday morning as maritime workers for tugboat giant Svitzer strike over the Danish company’s attempt to terminate their enterprise agreement.
Three separate unions are behind the strike, which will leave ships from Cairns to Melbourne to Geraldton with limited tugboat services when shipping companies are already under intense pressure from the ongoing supply chain crisis.
