Kylie Rogers has a pigeon problem. It’s not exactly the sort of issue she thought she would inherit as the new chief executive of the Victoria Racing Club, but it’s a big one for the 18 trainers who use the 127 hectares of Flemington Racecourse.

Rogers is used to managing people with different priorities and agendas. As the Australian Football League’s top commercial boss, she regularly had to navigate the competing interests of the league’s 18 clubs.
