Holding the status of ‘doctor’ just became even more common

The all-too-common question “Is there a doctor in the house?” is about to become more difficult to answer as pharmacists join the growing list of professions given special exemptions to use the title.

Changes last year to the Australian Qualifications Framework and approved by federal and state education ministers, now allow students with a master’s degree (extended) in pharmacy to call themselves a doctor.
