Final conspirator found guilty of $105m Plutus tax fraud

A school friend of the son of a former Australian Tax Office commissioner has been found guilty of one of Australia’s biggest corporate tax frauds, marking the end of a marathon trial over the scam.

Following a nine-month trial and two months of deliberation, a jury in the NSW Supreme Court on Tuesday found Patrick Willmott, 36, guilty of conspiring to defraud the Commonwealth and dealing with more than $1 million in proceeds of crime.
