Burke lines up IR agenda, hits out at bargaining ‘red tape’
The Albanese government will focus on scrapping the “red tape” of enterprise bargaining in the upcoming jobs summit as it looks to provide more tools to boost wages following this week’s historic minimum wage rise.
Workplace Relations Minister Tony Burke also wrote to the Fair Work Commission on Thursday to flag the government’s first priority was to legislate 10 paid days of domestic violence leave. The move effectively expands the entitlement earmarked by the commission for 2.6 million workers on awards to 8.5 million.
