AFP sets up operation to investigate CFMEU corruption

The Australian Federal Police has set up a new operation to investigate criminality in the construction sector, including allegations that CFMEU officials received bribes.

Operation Rye was established in July after then Workplace Relations Minister Tony Burke referred reports of corruption and bikie infiltration of the CFMEU and the broader industry in Nine’s “Building Bad” investigation to the AFP.
