'A real worry': Judge slams litigation funding fees

The Federal Court has blasted the litigation funder's cut from a class action as "fantastic in the true sense of the word" and warned it would leave workers with less than half their unpaid wages, at best.

Justice Michael Lee told Canberra-based Adero Law in a recent hearing that its litigation funding deal over alleged charity worker underpayments by marketing agency Appco raised "real issues" about whether any settlement would be fair and reasonable.
