Some founders regard directors as ‘something to be tolerated’

Experienced director Yasmin Allen has had a rule of not sitting on boards of founder-led listed companies for more than 10 years.

The drawbacks of overseeing such companies can include a lack of robust debate, where independent directors’ opinions are overlooked, and poor governance structures.
