Why Microsoft’s Steven Worrall runs analytics on his diary

Steven Worrall, MD of Microsoft in Australia and New Zealand, conducts an audit of his diary every quarter - and never has more than two cups of coffee a day.

What time do you get up and what do you do first thing?

I usually get up between 5.30 and 6am. I’ve got two golden retrievers and they will either jump on the bed or start moving around, indicating it’s time to get up for me to feed them. I’ll feed them and then do some sort of exercise, on average four out of every five workdays, and then once or twice on the weekend. In lockdown, I use a rowing machine at home or go for a run, or go to a personal trainer. That’s usually for an hour or so, so from 6 to 7am. Normally, I would go to the gym twice a week.
