Paul Scurrah, a former chief executive of Virgin Australia, was working for Ansett when the airline was placed into voluntary administration.

The experience prompted Scurrah, who now runs rail freight company Pacific National, to adopt the mantra: happy people, happy customers, happy shareholders.
