Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews has hit back at Catholic Archbishop of Melbourne and fellow Essendon supporter Peter Comensoli, arguing that his Catholic faith guides him every day and he will not apologise for calling out homophobia.
Archbishop Comensoli criticised Mr Andrews on Wednesday, warning that society was in “big trouble” based on the language the premier and others had used against people of faith. Such language was harmful and divisive, he said.
